Chopin Airport handles scheduled, charter and cargo traffic. In 2010, it served over 8.7 million passengers, i.e. 43% of the total air passenger traffic in Poland. The airport’s infrastructure is continuously being developed in order to increase the airport’s capacity and improve the quality of passenger service. Terminal extension was completed in the first half of 2011. Other planned investment projects include the modernization of T1 terminal building, construction of a new hotel and development of Chopin Airport City – a modern multipurpose venue with business, commercial and recreational facilities and a total area of over 150 thousand sq. m.
